1 Food Labeling & Japanese Agricultural Standard (JAS)

Introduces the system on food labeling and standards for foods. Provides info useful in choosing products. The whole system is called the JAS System which governs all agricultural and forestry products, except liquors, drugs, quasi-drugs and cosmetics.

2 Japanese Electrotechnical Committee (JEC)

3 Japanese Industrial Standards Committee (JISC)

Introduces activities of the Committee including standardization, conformity assessment and other international activities.

6 Standards for Information of Science and Technology (SIST)

Standards for information of science and technology (SIST) established by ex-Ministry of Education to facilitate dissemination of S&T information in Japan as drafted and revised by JST. Latest 2003 edition contains SIST 01 "Abstracts and abstracting" up to SIST14 "Guidelines for electronic contribution rules".

7 The Japan Accreditation Board for Conformity Assessment (JAB)

Presents the outline of the conformity assessment system of JAB, which works for the development and establishment of third-party conformity assessment schemes in Japan.

8 The Japan Institute for Health Food Standards (JIHFS)

JIHFS manages the GMP mark showing accreditation of JIHFS regarding quality and safety. It guarantees that prescribed management standard and management methods are applied for a health food from the first stage of material introduction up to the final stage of product shipment.
