Touch sensor

Touch sensors are devices that can scientifically recognize the sense of touch felt by human skin, including the dryness of hair and smoothness of skin. Research on touch sensors is being advanced at the University of Tokyo and Tohoku University. If these sensors are attached to nursing care robots, it may be possible for the robots to detect changes in the skin of babies, elderly people with dementia, or others. This would considerably raise the artificial intelligence abilities of robots. If robots can understand the touch of hair and skin, they may also contribute the development of cosmetic products, fabrics, and other products related to the sense of touch.
