Abstract;In this paper, we propose the moving picture coding based on region segmentation scheme using genetic algorighm(GA). In detail, moving picture coding based on region segmentation and motion estimation should be simultaneously done for decreasing coding bits and raising encoding S/N ratio. We study how to apply GA, for example, data format, initializing, each procedure, etc., for optimizing region segmentation. (author abst.)
