Abstract; We recently reported macrocyclic polypyridine structures as ribofuranoside receptors consisting of two components: diamidotripyridines and bisphenol derivatives as a hydrogen-bonding site and as a linkage for macrocyclic structures, respectively. Here we present artificial glucopyranoside receptors, which showed the highest association constant (Ka=5600M-1) of synthetic receptors possessing an uncharged hydrogen bonding site for .BETA.-glucopyranoside derivatives in CDCl3.
