Abstract;In order to model the self assembling character of porphyrins, we have synthesized two chiral trimeric porphyrin array attached with Leu-OBzl or Ala-OBzl. The porphyrins in the Ala-attached trimer has little tendency for the intramolecular aggregation, being different from the array with Leu-OBzl. The Leu-attached trimer with three free base units showed little Cotton effect. However, the CD spectra of Zn-Zn-Zn trimer was strong and complex. Because this complex CD spectra was concentration-dependent, the Zn-Zn-Zn array might aggregate in the intermolecular fashion. (author abst.)
