Abstract; The present study has shown using VT-1H NMR and HPLC techniques that the porphyrin rings in cerium(IV) bis(tetraphenylporphyrinate) double decker analogues can rotate, the speed being affected by the substituent bulkiness. Thus, one can now safely utilized them as a novel scaffold for molecular design, taking the rotation of two porphyrin rings into consideration. (author abst.)
