Abstract;Two-dimensionally organized protein layers were prepared utilizing Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) films which could bind His-tag (poly(histidine) tagged) proteins through specific interaction between metal-chelating lipids and poly(histidine) stretches via Cu(II) ions. Colloidal probe atomic force microscopy was employed to measure forces between these protein monolayers. Protein used in this study were Sigma A subunit of RNA polymerase and a transcrition factor Spo0A. Interactions between Sigma A-Sigma A, Spo0A-Spo0A, and Sigma A-Spo0A were investigated.
