Abstract; We have been interested in fluorescent chiral calix[4]arenes as host molecules for chiral discrimination. Herein we report the synthesis of a fluorescent chiral calix[4]arene with two pyrene moieties forming an intramolecular excimer and its optical resolution by an HPLC method using a chiral-packed colomun. The fluorescence properties of the chiral calix[4]arene toward amino acid esters and optically active amines will be also reported. (author abst.)
