| Abstract; The simple supported steel-concrete composite slab bridge has many advantages such as light weight, high structural performance and time reduction at the construction site. The application of this composite slab bridge to the continuous bridge should be associated with the control of concrete cracks at the intermediate support. This study focuses at the crack behavior in the negative moment region. The optimum ratio of the additional reinforcement as well as the concept of intermittent composition in the negative bending region are verified by load-carring test of several simple and two continuous beams.
