Abstract;Pyrimidin-5-yl-magnesium and -cerium chloride were prepared via the halogen-metal exchange of 5-bromopyrimidine with ethylmagnesium chloride and a sequential treatment of n-butyllithium and cerium(III) chloride, respectively. In a similar way, 2,4-di-butoxypyrimidin-5-yl-magnesium and -cerium chloride were prepared from the reaction of 5-bromo-2,4-di-tert-butoxypyrimidine with ethylmagnesium chloride and n-butylcerium chloride, respectively. And 6-chloro-7-(N,N-dimethylsulfamoyl)purin-8-yllithium was prepared via the hydrogen-metal exchange of 6-chloro-7-(N,N-dimethylsulfamoyl)purine with lithium hexamethyldisilazane(LiHMDS).
