Abstract;We found new photochemical bis-silylation of unsaturated compounds in the presence of C60 via a photoinduced electron-transfer process. Irradiation of a benzonitrile solution of disilirane and C60 with a halogen lamp(cutoff<400nm) resulted in formation of the 1:1 and 1:2 adducts of disilirane and benzonitrile in good yields. This bis-silylation is initiated by an electron-transfer between disilirane and TC60. (author abst.)
