Abstract;Thermolysis of 1b and 1c led to isomerization to afford a first 1,4-disila(Dewar-benzene)s(3b,c) as well as 2,5-disilabenzvalene(2b,c). The chemical properties of 3c toward oxygen and butadiene under photolysis and X-ray analysis unambiguously confirmed the structure. Vinyl silylene was proposed to be a common intermediate for both 3b, c and 2b, c. (author abst.)
