| Abstract;Four- and five-membered ring systems, peralkyltrisilacyclobutanes and -tetrasilacyclopentanes, [R2Si]nCH2(1a:n=3,R=iPr; 1b:n=3, R=tBuCH2; 2a:n=4,R=iPr;2b:n=4,R=tBuCH2), were synthesized and characterized. The structures of 1b and 2a by X-ray analysis showed the Si3C ring of 1b to be puckered with a dihedral angle of 25.5.DEG. and the Si4C ring of 2a to be a distorted half-chair conformation, respectively. Some properties of 1 and 2 were investigated and compared with those of the related compounds [R2Si]nX(n=3, 4; R=iPr; tBuCH2; X=SiR2, Ge(CH2SiMe3)2,NCC6H11, O). (author abst.) |
