Abstract;The reaction of Cp2Ti(SAr)2 with PtCl(Me)(cod) in a 1:2 molar ratio gives Cp2TiCl2 and Pt(SAr)(Me)(cod) via initial formation of Cp2TiCl(SAr) followed by its further reaction with PtCl(Me)(cod). Cp2TiC(SPh) prepared from equimolar reaction of Cp2TiCl2 with NaSPh and repeated recrystallization of the product is equilibrated to a mixture of Cp2TiCl2 and Cp2Ti(SPh)2 in THF. Kinetic measurement of the reaction of Cp2TiCl(SPh) with excess amounts of PtCl(Me)(cod) revealed that the reaction follows the second-order kinetics to the Ti complex. (author abst.)
