| Abstract; This paper presents the efforts of Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ) for global environmental problems and the history of preparation and details of its "global environment action plan" announced in 1997. The paper describes the concrete activity policy announced by the president of AIJ in the linkage with the action plan in relation to the attitude of Japan toward COP3 (the 3rd conference of signatory nations of the United Nations Framework Convention onClimate Change), and the essence of the measures to realize the policy. As the concrete action target, the president suggested "30% reduction of CO2in the life cycle of buildings and an increase of their service life by 3 times". |
