| Abstract;This paper looks back on the history of soil and groundwater contamination in Japan, and presnts its present state and the outline of the results of the fieldsurvey conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare concerning the final disposal sites of non-industrial waste constructed by municipalities. According to the survey, it is found that many final disposal sites have not installed liner facilities or leachate treatment facilities. The paper also mentions the '' environmental hormone''( exogenous incretion-disturbing chemical substances ) which is a topic in recent days, and presnts the survey results of it by the Ministry of Construction and expected efforts for it by the Environment Agency in the future. |
