Abstract; An "electric water-interception function diagnosis system" was developed which detects earlier the water leakage of the sheet water-interception work by identifying the breakage and its position of the water-interception sheet in afinal disposal site by measuring electric-potential distribution strain. Thispaper presnts the measurement principles of this system and an example where thesystem was installed in Jindai final disposal site of Muroran City. It also describes repair methods when the breakage of the water-interception sheet is found, and the experimental results of a mechanized repair method using an urethane-resin-system repair agent.
