Abstract; As 2 typical techniques of environmental prediction of closed water-areas, this paper presents the outline of a flow simulation and water-quality and ecosystem simulation. And, as a water-quality purification technique which is an elementaltechnique of mitigation, the paper describes a seawater exchange method by an abrasion-whirlpool generation construction and reports the results of prediction and evaluation of water-quality purification effects of the method by a numerical simulation. In this method, a small-scale protuberant construction is installed in the mouth of a bay, whirlpools generated in the bay mouth are intensified and circulating flows are developed in the bay by the self-runningn effects of the whirlpools.
