| Abstract;A network access interface has been developed to astronomical CD-ROMs image data at Astronomical Data Analysis Center of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan. The CD-ROM resources open to the public currently include Digitized Sky Survey (DSS) lst/2nd, IRAS Sky Survey Atlas (ISSA), and Green Bank Sky Map (GBSM) at 1400MHz. The interface offers a couple of unique functions such as to identify galaxies listed in 'Catalogue of Principal Galaxies' visually on a DSS image, and to accept a mass requests to DSS images via e-mail which is processed in a batch mode. As the latter has become recognized to be useful for archival researches, the number of accesses has been increasing including those from overseas. (author abst.) |
