Abstract; On the degradation of the concrete by aerobic bacteria, this paper introduces the matters that has been clarified until now. From a degradated underground concrete structure in Hiroshima city, hydrogen sulfide generation bacteria and sulfur oxidation bacteria were confirmed. As the result of the separation and the cultivation, it became clear that the concrete can be deteriorated only by the aerobic sulfur relation bacteria, even if there is no action of the anaerobe. As the result of the simulation experiment, it was proven that, without sulfur relation bacteria, the microaerobion discharges sufficient organic acid and carbonic acid concerning the deterioration of concrete. It was clarified that the mechanism of the concrete degradation which originates from the organic acid by a metabolite of aerobic bacteria or from carbonic acid discharged by the respiratory effect.
