| Abstract;After recognizing the present situation of technological development of ground purification and application results in the U.S.A., a leader in the field, and the existing state of utilization of the technology for purification of the contaminated ground in Japan, this paper makes a technological comparison between the two countries. Legal system of toxic waste prevention policy and the history of enactment/revision of the laws in the U.S.A., and transition of the laws and regulations related to soild/groundwater pollution in Japan are introduced.. Having established the Superfund law, the U.S.A. has powerfully promoted ground contamination prevention policy under the responsibility of the Environmental Protection Agency, while the legal system of Japan is behind the U.S. |
