| Abstract;A field demonstration experiment was carried out in Kuwait for purification of oil sludge accumulated on the layer of the oil lake which appeared due to oil spill from the oil wells destructed by Gulf War by physical cleaning technique composed of combination of solvent/aqueous cleaning methods. This experiment aims at decreasing oil and salinity in the oil sludge to less than 7% and 3%, respectively. Actually oil could be reduced to 2% from 50%. Salinity density of the separated oil also could be reduced to 800 ppm at its maximum. |
