| Abstract;Conditions for the 13C-Urea Breath Test(13C-UBT), such as water volume concomitantly taken with CD-13, with or without gargling, and body position after administration, were examined on 8 Helicobacter pylori positive and 6 negative healthy male volunteers who took 100mg of CD-13. None of lthe conditions at any measuring points compared by ANOVA showed any significant differences. None of the subjects showed abnormal symptoms, clinical signs or laboratory values. In addition to the results of this study, reduction of load on patients and simplification of the test method were considered to set up the conditions for the 13C-UBT, and the following conditions were specified: 50ml water concomitant intake with CD-13, no restriction for gargling or body position(sitting or one-time rotation while lying) after administration of CD-13 before collectiong exhalation.
