Abstract; We study responses of a motion perception model to random dot kinematograms(RDK). The model based on competition detects global motion from integrated local motions. The model represents the motion process along the channel, retina.RAR.LGN.RAR.V1.RAR.MT, on the bases of physiological studies. In the model, the strongest signal in the detected local motions only survives in the competitive stage. Also, dynamics of this stage is correspond with the result of the study that response latency is different depending on stimuli. Given RDK which is composed of dots lead to in-coherent motion perception and dots lead to coherent motion perception, the ratio of correct detection of the model increases in propotion to the number of coherent dots. The results has good correspondence with the psychological studies. (author abst.)
