| Abstract;The recycling of home electric appliances (television, refrigerator, washing machine, air conditioner) is described on the following items: (1) present state of recycling, (2) recycling systems, (3) home electric appliance recycling demonstration plants, and (4) future prospects. On the item (1), unit number of shipments and dissemination rate, disposal route and disposal method are explained. On (2), the key points of recycling of televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners are described, and their recovery resources such as iron, nonferrous metals, glass, and plastic are mentioned. On (3), the development schedule of the plant that the Assoc. for Electric Home Appliances constructed in Ibaraki Prefect., "home electric appliance recycling demonstration plant (capacity: 150000 units/year)" is described. On (4), regulations and of recycling cost reduction are explained. |
