| Abstract;Mitsubishi Kakoki Kaisha,Ltd. developed a packed biological deodorizing method using string-fibrous carrier, and put to practical use. On the deodorizing method, the follwoing points are described: (1) principle, (2) sytem constitution, (3) features, (4) design technique, and (5) example of application. On (1), the reaction formulas for biodegradation of malodorous substances such as hydrogen sulfide and ammonia, and environmental conditions are described. On (2),the carrier (looped PP and PVA fiber bundle on PVDF string in the core), the packed column, and the sprinkler system are described. On (3), advantages of the system are large microorganism retention volume of the carrier, high deodorizing effect, and hanging structure. On (4), space velocity and packed-bed hight are explained. On (5), the examples of operation at three sewage treatment plants and a brewery are presented. |
