| Abstract;Vinyl sheets for farm over 12000 tons are abondoned in Hokkaido since they are exchanged once in two years because the solar light transmmision rate has decreased or they have been torn. Waste vinyl chloride sheets were washed, heated at about 145.DEG.C. to liquefy, formed through a metal mold, and cooled to granulate. Then, the granulated pellets were examined in particle size distribution, specific gravity, thermal conductivity, unit volume mass, compression characteristics, and hazardous substance leachability. In Mikasa City,Sorachi, pellets were experimentally layed as a layer to suppress frost heave. In using them as a substitute for road, a disadvantage exists in workability of construction, but they may be applied to agricultural roads with small traffic volume and sidewalks. The production cost in yearly processing of 2400 tons of waste vinyl chloride sheet is estimated. |
