Abstract;This paper describes a code and fatigue test data for designing a bogie truck frame for railroad use. For determining the first configuration, rather simple criteria are considered to be needed, although most codes for structural design are complex. The existing fatigue design code for railroad bogie truck frame is simple, and, however, the allowable values are vague from the viewpoints of non-fracture probability and design criteria of fatigue limit or fatigue damage. In this paper, some discussion on the code is described through fatigue data for main welded structures. (author abst.)
