| Abstract;The patient was 69-year-old man who complained of right flank pain and anuria. Bilateral hydronephrosis was found by ultrasound tomography. Percutaneous nephrostomy on the right side and indwelling of a left ureteral stent were performed. A diagnosis of retroperitoneal fibrosis was confirmed by CT scan and MRI. Pathological examination of an open-biopsied specimen revealed fibrosis and inflammation. The patient responded well to treatment comprising steroid therapy alone. No relapse has been noticed during the follow-up period of one year and 4 months. (author abst.) |
