Abstract; We report a case of renal failure caused by rhabdomyolysis. A 34-year-old man was referred to our hospital with the chief complaint of general fatigue and loss of appetite six days after playing sports, including 1.000m running. The serum levels of creatinine, CPK and myoglobin were 12.8mg/dl, 1.745mU/ml and 1.512ng/ml, respectively. He was diagnosed as suffering from acute renal failure due to rhabdomyolysis and hemodialysis was performed immediately. After undergoing hemodialysis five times, his renal function improved, and he was discharged on the fifteenth day. We thought this rhabdomyolysis may be caused by sports and dehydration.
