| Abstract; We report 2 cases of pulmonary hamartoma suspected of being a metastatic pulmonary tumor arising from urological cancer. Case 1 was a 60-year-old man with right renal pelvic cancer and a solitary pulmonary mass. The patient was treated initially with right total nephroureterectomy followed by 2 cycles of systemic chemotherapy (MVAC). Since the pulmonary mass showed no response, it was excised and diagnosed as a chondromatous hamartoma. Case 2 was a 68-year-old man with right renal cancer and a solitary pulmonary mass. The patient simultaneously underwent right nephrectomy and thoracoscopic surgery. The pulmonary mass was diagnosed as a chondromatous hamartoma. The possibility must be considered that a solitary pulmonary mass may in fact be a hamartoma. (author abst.) |
