| Abstract;The development of perfect dry cutting technology by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries was introduced. It uses carbide gear hob without using cutting oil in order to improve the work environment and also global environment. For a realization of the dry cutting, a tool with a stable life to endure machining without cutting oil and hobbing machine to discharge chips quickly. Developed high speed steel hob has a coating of special high speed steel material with heat resistance and abrasion resistance and shows excellent performance and life than conventional high speed steel hob so to reduce the cost. Its structure and features were described together with an example of the application. |
