Abstract;Chemical and electrochemical behavior of XeF2 was examined in propylene carbonate (PC). By means of Raman and IR spectroscopies, it was found that XeF2 survived in thoroughly dried PC for a long time. On the other hand, XeF2 was found to be electrochemically active and reduced on the graphite cathode in a cell using lithium counter electrode. (author abst.)
