Abstract;It was found that silicon tetrafluoride works as a catalyst of fluorination with xenon difluoride. In the presence of a catalytic amount of silicon tetrafluoride, phenylolefins reacted with xenon difluoride in dichloromethane at room temperature, and corresponding vic-difluoro compounds were obtained in good yields. We also disclosed that vic-difluorination of fluoroolefins proceeds with xenon difluoride-silicon tetrafluoride. Fluoroethylenes were fluorinated with xenon difluoride and silicon tetrafluoride in high yields. (author abst.)
