Abstract;Conductive carbon blacks were treated by fluorine gas at 673 K. Completely fluorinated carbon blacks and surface fluorinated carbon blacks were obtained. These carbon blacks were analyzed by XPS, FTIR-PAS and Raman spectroscopies. The results of these analyses suggest that C-F bonds were formed on the surfaces of fluorinated carbon blacks.
