| Abstract; Most of sufferers of late Han-Shin Awaji Earthquake disaster has shown strong refusal to countermeasure for flammability of city in reconstruction. There is some possibility to remind them of forming concrete jungle by flammability. Foreign metropolises such as London, Roma, Chicago and San Francisco, are reconstructed after catastrophe forming cities with disaster-tolerance and amenity. Peculiarity of Japan not reproducing similar phenomena is considered. One of basic problems is lack of methodology for urban design with advanced safety concept.Other problem is excessive concentration of building concept to proper building. However disaster-preventive subject building may be, as building itself, it is not always sufficient for disaster prevention and amenity of city as assembled body. Establish of urban design theory satisfying above-mentioned two problems is urgent business. |
