| Abstract;Taiheiyo Cement Co. has acquired the certification by ISO 14001 on the environment management for the first time in Japanese industry in 1997, and its own 5 factories have acquired the certification too.The outline of ISO 14001, the background and the purpose of the challenge of the certification acquisition activity, the certification acquisition plan by the company, the construction of environment management system, and then the significance of the certification acquisition are described.The purpose of the acquisition is to advance the resource recycling of the wastes, as not the environmental pollution industry it was, and to shoulder the leading role of circulation type economic society construction. The certification is not the end purpose and it needs the further continual improvement and to attempt achievement of environmental goal. |
