| Abstract;Hypertensive patients with renal dysfunction were treated with CS-905 for 7 days to assess its plasma drug concentration profile and safety. 1) On Day 1, the plasma drug concentration, AUC, and Cmax values of the patients were comparable to those obtained in healthy volunteers. 2) In the multiple dose study, the plasma drug concentration reached a steady state within one week. 3) On Day 7, the Cmax and AUC0-24 tended to be about two times greater in the patients than in the healthy volunteers, and the Cl/F for the patients was approximately half of the control value. However, the other parameters did not show any differences between the two groups. 4) With regard to adverse effects, fever and arthritis were noted in one patient. From these results, we concluded that the same doses used for trials in hypertensive patients having normal renal function can be used to assess the efficacy and safety of CS-905 in hypertensive patients with renal dysfunction.
