| Abstract; We developed a rapid analytic method (hemolyzing tube method) for HbA1c determination using a dedicated hemolyzing tube that allows the blood sample to hemolyze at the time of blood drawing. Based on a turbidimetric inhibition immunoassay (TINIA) method, LIQUITECH HbA1c II (Roche Diagnostics K. K.), was used to measure HbA1c. Precision by the hemolyzing tube method was CV=1.62% (n=10). Results of a comparison study between HPLC (x) and hemolyzing tube method (y) were y=1.045x-0.167, r=0.982 (n=260). In conclusion, a hemolysis sample can be easily and rapidly obtained with this newly developed hemolyzing tube method, which is convenient for the laboratory and particularly suitable for rapid testing of HbA1c.
