| Abstract; This paper reports the examination result of the durability of 37 year old PC piles of octahedral shape in port facility at Kobe harbor under severe environment and examines the effectiveness as PC structure in port facility, and shows compression strength, static elastic modulus, distribution of chloride ion, pore size distribution, X-ray analysis, residual prestress in the PC piles and mechanical characteristics of the PC steel wires in the concrete. If the covering depth of the PC steel wire keeps the current 7cm, it shows that the durability and corrosion damage of the steel wire are good and the permeability of chloride ion is of low level on AASHTO, and the degree of solidity is so high that the concrete keeps good durability. |
