Abstract;The objective of this study is to develop global wetland mapping methodology using ASTER data. Optimum algorithm for mangrove forest was examined at Iriomote Island. And, the switching of algorithm to each wetland type was necessary, so the method which determine possible wetland type from sattelite position data was investigated. (author abst.)
