Abstract; In 1995-1998, six SPOT HRV and surface chlorophyll-a concentration(Chl-a) datasets were obtained in Lake Shinji, to investigate multidate algorithms for Chl-a estimation. The datasets were related to Chl-a estimation using simple and multiple regression techniques. Although multidate algorithms derived from HRV using band ratio(XS1/XS2) and multi-band(XS1, XS2 and XS3) were not useful for each date, that using horizontal average(XS1/XS2) was found to be useful monitoring index for average Chl-a whole Lake Shinji.
