Abstract; The velocities of products from fission of 245Am, 249Bk, 233Pa, and 238Np we re measured using a double velocity TOF telescope. From the mass and kinetic energy of paired fragments, the extent of the deformation of the nucleus at the instant rupturing into two fragments was determined based on the Coulomb repulsion mechanism. Furthermore, the study was extended to atomic nuclei from preactinides to transactinides. It was found that the deformation degrees for all the nuclei could be classified into three types, among them two are for the mass-symmetric deformation and one for the mass-asymmetric deformation.
