Abstract; The thermochromatography is considered as a useful technique for the investigation of chemical properties of heavy- and trans-actinide elements. As a preliminary experiment, we investigated a gas-solid phases reaction between dipivaloylmethane (dpm) and lanthanum chloride in a view of the applicability to a rapid chemistry. The results showed that the complex formation of lanthanum chloride with dpm was recognized. In the present work, gas phase reaction between tracer scale of lanthanide elements and dpm was investigated by using thermochromatographic technique. Trace amounts of lanthanide elements were produced in the spontanous fission of 252Cf. The activity distribution was measured by .GAMMA.-ray spectroscopy with a Ge detector. (author abst.)
