| Abstract;Instrumental and radiochemical neutron activation analysis (INAA, RNAA) and instrumental photon activation analysis (IPAA) were employed to determine 25 trace elements in 32 spices of 18 species and 16 pulses of 8 species originating from different localities of the world. The present results are compared with each other and the reported values. Then the concentration levels, their variations and the correlations of the analysed elements in these samples were investigated. The variation of concentration in the species investigated were within a factor of two except for some samples. It could not be clarified that the difference of concentrations in the samples depends on their localities, because the sample originating from a few localities were analyzed. The variations of K, Mg and Zn concentrations were within the factor of 10 regardless of species and localities. On the other hand, the concentration of some essential elements such as Ca, Mn and Fe ranged over more than three order of magnitude, and the cobcentration levels of these elements in the pulses were lower than those in the spices. From theses analytical results, the difficulty of giving value of an element for a given item is evident. (author abst.) |
