Abstract; In this paper, various sensors of grip type for measurement of grasping force distribution have been examined in order to design the optimum grip shape for ski pole. These sensors are piled up in parallel by rings as cross section of the ski pole grip. Grasping tests are provided with 9 sensors of straight and tapered grips. Grasping force during holding of static loads in the supposition that the ski pole is stuck and is pulled out in the snow, is measured by using these grip sensors. Experimental results show that the force of index and middle fingers is lager than others except thumb in case of sticking, but in reverse in case of pulling. It is considered that the characteristics of force distribution are in relation to direction of maximum force of an each finger. (author abst.)
