| Abstract;The nucleic acid recognition properties of novel peptide ribonucleic acids(PRNA) were studied. 5'-amino-5'-deoxypyrimidine nucleoside was used as the recognition site and glutamic acid or aminoethylglycine as the backbone. The PRNA containing a uridine recognized complementary nucleic acid in the absence of borates, whereas the recognition ability was lost in the presense of borates. Thus, it was demonstrated clerly that the recognition ability of these PRNAs can be controlled effectively by borate through the conformational and orientational change of the recognition site.
