Abstract;Squalene epoxidase(SE) is a non-P450 flavoprotein monooxygenase the catalyze the conversion of squalene to (3S)2,3-oxidosqualene. We report herein, (1) structure and bacterial expression of human SE, (2) enzyme inhibition by natural and synthetic galloy esters, and (3) molecular modeling studies based on the crystal structure of bacterial p-hydroxy-benzoate hydroxylase.
