Abstract;Synthetic quinone models can be very helpful in studying the effect of these structures in electron transfer associated with proton transfer in biological process as well as in constructing these transfers at interfaces. We now synthesized lipid-linked quinones, and characterized their electron transfers associated with proton transfer at electrode modified with lipid membranes. The data of the cyclic voltammetry on the glassy carbon electrode modified with lipid membranes containing quinone derivatives indicated that a set of waves was clearly visible, corresponding to the consecutive two-electron and two-proton transfer reduction of the quinone unit (quinone/hydroquinone).
