Abstract;Interaction of the TTQ model compounds with several metal ions and the catalytic effects of the metal ions on the amine-oxidation reactions in anhydrous organic solvents were investigated in order to get information about the catalytic role of metal ions in the redox reactions of TTQ coenzyme of quinoprotein amine dehydrogenases. The TTQ model compounds form 1:1 complexes with various monovalent (Li+,Na+), divalent (Mg2+,Ca2+,Sr2+,Ba2+) and trivalent (Sc3+) metal ions in anhydrous CH3CN in the presence of benzylamine, among which the divalent metal ions (Mg2+,Ca2+) drastically accelarate the amine-oxidation reaction by the TTQ model compound. The catalytic role of the metal ions will be discussed in detail. (author abst.)
